The back-emf kick out of ANY high energy ignition system should be around 300 to
400 volts.  Shucks, I get around 200 volts out of my *low energy* system in my
1986 Le Baron.  When you 'scope the primary side, you should also see the
current limiting "hump" at about 3.5 ms after coil charging begins.

In my judgement, either you have a bad ground connection or your module's
nuked.
