oil pumps (not efi)

Somewhere I read that some race engines actually restrict oil flow improve
performance.  I think that when someone buys a new oil pump it is assumed
that the engine is rebuilt, and probably is not blue printed.  The extra
volume is used for clearances at or above max factory specs.  me
