Finding out Fuel Consumption.

I dont know if anyone can help me, but Ill give it a shot.

I am currently doing a microprocessor project using an 8051.
What I am building is a simple Fuel / Trip computer.

I have a 1993 Ford Thunderbird with a 5.0H.O. engine.  Someone told me =
that Pin 34 on the EEC computer relates to how long the fuel injector is =
open. This in turn relates to the instantaneous fuel consumption.=20
 Does anyone know of how I can find out more about the EEC-IV engine =
computer?  I know ford is tight lipped about these type of things.

Can anyone out there suggest a book that would help me out with this =
subject??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
