David,

Since you live in the Dallas area, I would suggest that you seriously
check out Haltech.  You can actually drive to see these guys.  Ask
for Dale and be sure to tell him that Dan from Haslett, Michigan sent
you.  He's very personable and seems to be a gearhead EE guy (like me)
who actually uses his own products in his spare time.

Haltech has a product called the E6 that can do most of the same
functions as the Electromotive box.  It's based on the HC11 and can do
spark management, as well as idle air control, and all the other stuff
that a conventional OEM ECM can.
