Honestly, you are jumping over your head a little bit. But I won't stop =
you... the reason being learning hands-on is a fantastic experience and =
if you have access to slews of parts (i.e. engine!) as well as the =
electronics, you have nothing to lose, only to gain.
I've been reading "Fuel Injection" by Jeff Hartman ISBM 0-87938-743-2, =
avail from a larger WaldenBooks store or Motorbooks Internation, at =
800-826-6600. This text will give you a stronger foundation, and does =
lightly discuss the concept of dual injectors in racing applications, =
which is somewhat similar to what you are trying to do... run regular =
injectors for street use, and have a second fuel system (Methonol, =
Alcohol, etc) running in parallel for boost requirements.
BTW, I have everything you have sitting in a box in the corner.. the =
Motorola EV-1 68HC11F1 Evaluation Board, battery backed Ram (using a =
Dallas 64K litium powered static ram chip instead of an eprom <G>), as =
well as eight LM1949 injectors. Haven't done a thing with it. I don't =
have the C compiler, however I do have the assembler as published on =
Motorola's website. Just haven't done anything with it yet.

Okay, I really wanted to write about radar, but instead, I think I will=20
pick something different. I am a student in an engineering technology=20

mechanincal engineering tech. I started a bit of a propane/ methanol=20
sidetrack discussion a while back.=20
My situation is this: I am thinking of trying, with considerable help,=20
to build a simple efi controller for adding supplementary fuel=20
(methanol) to my engine during boost. I am planing simple stuff, batch =
fire, with 4 injectors, a 0-2 bar MAP sensor, and firing the injectors=20
only during boost and varying pulsewidth according to MAP. I have =
access=20
to free use of a 68HC11F1 board, with the extra battery backed RAM, I=20
have 4 LM1949N injector driver ICs (peak and hold). I have acces to=20
compilers for assembly and C, neither of which I know. I can program=20
BASIC sort of. I will have help from professors and students. Am I=20
jumping in way over my head?
ANy input suggestions, experiences, would be helpful. Also does anyone=20
know where I can get a 0-2 bar MAP sensor? Cheap? ANd what si the sort =
of=20
output I get from it? I can put it in a pressure vessel and map the MAP =
sensor, but I dont want to.
