El Camino SS Choo Choo Custom. 305 V8 electronic carb. It has the
Nascar front end etc. I had two guys look at the car for me and neither
of them reported that all of the emissions equipment were unhooked.
The car is running rich now and stumbles when you accelerate. I believe
that the computer fuse has been pulled as none of the dash lights are
lighting up. I want to get his back in shape so that I can pass
inspection and get it to run pretty good. I have been poring over the
Roe book on Rochester carbs, the Haynes book on computer codes etal.
I do have access to an exhaust analyzer etc. I am hooking back up the 3
way catalytic converter, the egr and hot air stove. I have a plug near
the car that is unhooked that has some round ridges on it and some
electical connections that I don't know where it goes and one other
electrical connector. I am going to order the factory manuals on
Tuesday.
The car starts right up and idles good. It needs a set of wires. What I
dont want to do is burn up the catalytic converter while I figure out
what I am doing. I figure I will also need to replace the 02 sensor as
suggested.
Interestingly I was reading the mail on the Holley projections system
on the Holley web site and that system does not seem that it has all
the bugs worked out either.
