Dear List,

Given my choice of believing the list or believing Cummins and Catapillar
et al, I think overall I'll go with the guys selling grunch's of machines.
I do not know about torque per cubic in relationships of puny gutless car
diesels, but I do know that car diesels are generally wimpy (VW, Mercedes,
Cadilac etc) and what goes into industrial units whips the pants of car
crapolla. This however might be due to deliberate detuning of automotive
units so that they can use cheaper gas strength components rather than
going to the high strength (re weight) industrial stuff and maybe also to
make less noise.

I also know that a check for a formula that requires you reach an
unreachable rpm, the check is basically useless. I also know that most
hp/torque claims are totally bogus. Example - see articles about how much
more power "True Power left handed swirl port self ejaculating head makes
55 more horsepower than ..." only to find out they have changed cam,
compression and carboration when comparing the two. Not fair, not useful
but typical for journalistic morality and integrity.

And finally, my question about the massive torque claimed for truck -
truck diesels is not a "so there!!" but a so explain to me why because
those numbers are very real and I am truly curious.

If the first ingredient ain't Habanero, then the rest don't matter.
