Info on HEI module

I am considering using a couple of (4 pin) HEI modules to power two coil
packs for a 4 cyl. distributorless ignition system.  It would appear
that these can be had quite cheaply from a parts store....BUT of course
the parts store will want to know a vehicle make, model, phase of the
moon it was manufactured under etc.  Can anyone give me the required
information ?
    Also one of the later modules with the retard feature might be
useful.
