beginner

Hi,
 I've been lurking around this list for a while and I'm now ready to
embark on a project. I've been looking at the diy_efi pages, and was
wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on where to begin. I'm
technically competent in both electronics and programming. What I've been
looking at has been the Digital distributorless system using the 68hc11.
It seems pretty simple enough, unfortunately, there isn't full schematics
for the project and I was wondering if anyone could help me get fuill
schematics for it. The other project that I was looking at was the one
involving the 68332 chip, which is a little more complicated than I would
like to experiment with.
 Any pointers would be welcome.
