MEK is laquar paint thinner.  I was coating a fuel tank that I made and
noticed that the "Tank Tech" coating was too thick to coat the tank. It just
rolled around like a blob of hot gum. When all else failed, I read the can
and it said to thin it using MEK. Worked just fine.
