Are these words of wisdom spoken with experience ?
My EFI target (after I finish a couple of other garage ornaments) is a
blown, injected flathead. I have the motor (rebuilt) and the blower all
setup but with the asthmatic nature of the ports and the fact that the
blower is about 2/3 the length of the motor, distribution is a bit of a
problem. I'd like to port inject it, rather than try baffles to even it
up but I wondered if running the blower dry was going to cause more
problems, both with the extra expansion and intake heating.
Any comments ?
These things love to be blown. Every thing happens where a modern Jap
car considers to be a fast idle and a bit of puff just adds more low end
torque. Not much upsets a SBC owner more than being shut down by
something 60 years old and sounds like a tractor going through the
traps. :-)
