The way I locate the sensor.
1. get a 600 degree and a 1200degree tempil stick (they look like a 
crayon)
2. warm up the engine till the exhaust pipe temp stabilizes
3. with the 600 crayon at the outlet end, move in till the crayon 
melts.  mark the pipe
4 with the 1200 degree crayon start at the markand move towards the 
engine till it melts.  mark the pipe.
5. measure half way between the marks for O2 analyzer location.

open the plastic case (carefully) and see how simple the circuit is.
I put one on each pipe  of my VW sandbuggy so I can tell which  carb 
has a fouled jet.  (or  I used to keep running and then stopped and 
felt the exhaust pipe temp)
