FI a 3.8L v6 ?

Assuming its a FWD GM engine, almost any of the 86+ FWD 3.8L intakes will
work.

I ahve the same issue - mid-engine style... I'm using turbo's so going to
the back of the engine is a good thing.  In your case, jsut use flexible
intake hose and route it forward, possibly to an air scoop for increased
pressure.
