Wastegate mod.....

My Subaru uses a similar 2D table to control the solenoid, but the
contents of the table are the actual soleniod pulse widths. This works
fine except that it is not closed loop, but I am proposing something
slightly different where control is still closed loop PID control, but
the set point for the PID controller is the contents of the table so
the set point changes with revs/throttle position, but the PID
controller still maintains accurate boost with good throttle
     response....

Will the turbo respond quickly enough to the wastegate? It's definitely
possible to control the wastegate with the 2D table, but even if the
wastegate responds, how long would it take for the turbo to slow down or
speed up as the wastegate opens and closes?
