How about brazing or silver soldering the lines together. Cut the
fitting you need, and a few extra inches off the donor vehicle. Get a
chunk os steel line to fit over that line to use as a splice to the new
line and braze or silver solder the line together. It cannot slip like a
compression union, and it won.t put a "ring" arount the steel like
causing it to fracture down the road. Just don't overheat the joint if
brazing, or it will get brittle.
