Being mindful of the hazards of jumping in during the middle of a
conversation (haven't been following this thread), I figured I'd butt in
anyway :)

The "Turbo Pinto SOHC 4" was available as a 2.3L in the Merkur over here
in the States.  I dunno how common that car was in Europe, but since it
was produced in Germany, perhaps parts may be available over there as
well.
