The book I have maybe an older version (about 10 years old) but you were
right on
B.E.H about the mixture degrees 400-440F and in this book Smokey used a
2.5L
4-cylinder got 50 MPG 250HP and 230 ft.lb torque. It was turboed with 15
psi boost
but the reason he said was to use it as a one way valve so the mixture
wouldn't push
back through the carb.
