Measuring dynamic cylinder pressure

The Tektronics sensors I am familiar with just replace the sparkplug in an
operational engine.  That way when you trigger on the crank you get that
classic curve that gives you BMEP.
It is just a small strain guage pressure transducer connected to a standard
sparkplug with a small diameter stainless steel tube an inch or so long.
