A good method for improving O ring sealing is to use
back up rings in conjunction with the O rings.  Get a
catalog from on ring supplier(check the Thomas 
Register).  Unfortunately back up rings take up space 
and the O ring land may not be wide enough, but it is 
worth looking into.  Backed up O ring are good for 
3000+ psi with a good fatigue life.
