SSI67F687 EIP Chip

Does anyone have any detailed information on the Silicon System's
SSI67F687-IH Engine interface peripheral? I have  a preliminary version
of the data sheet (dated 1992), but I need some clarification on setting
up the pattern recognition ram. Any info on this obsolete beast would be
most appreciated.
