GM 1.8L TBI EFI system ? does such a thing exist ?

Yup, the 1982 through 1986 J cars (i.e. Sunbird) were available with a
1.8 TBI engine (VIN engine code of O).  Some of the 84 through 86's have
a 1.8 port injected turbo engine (engine code J).  Yet others have a 2.0
TBI (engine code P).  The 1.8 and 2.0 are two different engine
families.  One is OHC (the 1.8 I think) and the other is pushrod.

The 1.8 TBI used four different ECMs over the five years: 82, 83, 84,
and 85/86.  The 84 and 85/86 ECMs will be a bit easier to tweak.  None
of these use a MAT sensor.  If you are putting this on your MGB, make
sure to include the jumper wire in the GM wiring harness.  It tells the
ECM hardware that this is the 1.8 engine and not the 2.5 engine.
