pre-fuel filter advice needed

Inside the bowl the fuel is moving slower so it drops out some of the dirt/water
that is being carried along by the flow  --- just like a river dropping silt.

Howerver my advice would be to fit a bag filter or screen  inside  the tank over
the end of the fuel pick-up pipe, that way any muck will not even get into he
fuel lines. This type of filter is to some extent self cleaning as the fuel
sloshing around in the tank washes it.
