CDI powerfull multi-spark

Not from a spark but preignition can sure do it. So can detonation. Is the
hole edges nice and smooth (preignition) or kinda rough or atleast mottley
looking (detonation)? I've never heard of the spark itself melting anything
(maybe your engine was using the piston as the grounding electrode? :-)
What does the plug look like? If it looks good - you know the spark was
going there. Funny the piston would melt and the plug wouldn't even look
hot.

Hope this helps. Couldn't avoid the humor (or at least the attempt at it).
I know this can be really frustrating. I'd also be curious what the timing
actually was on the engine!
