Volume for volume, and pound for pound, you are right about alky. But a
given amount of available oxygen (which is the limitation on our toys) will
burn enough more mass of alky (talking methanol here) than dino stuff that
the total heat of combustion available from a given amount of oxygen mixed
with a stoich amount of alky is around 20% greater than from the same
amount oxygen mixed stoich with dino droppings!! This is one of the BIG
reasons why motors make more power and go faster on alky!!
