DIY glass fibre plenum chamber? Bad idea?

I've built a grp plenum chamber for a 1 litre Hillman Imp engine and it
seems OK.  It does mount to a set of Weber Alpha injector mounting
elbows, so it is supported by eight 8mm studs, and only carries the
weight of a single throttle body.  I guess if you have a lot of weight
hanging off something like that it might crack up.
The glass was in the form of proper woven cloth, not simple chopped
strand mat though.
