TPS Sensitivity

Bruce,

Sounds like you are desire an analog solution. Analog differentials are
done with capacitive coupling (highpass filter) and the threshold with a
comparator comparing the filtered TPS to a reference.

A more selective and adjustable system would be done with a
microcontroller and an A/D converter.  The differential (change in
position) and magnitude of change can be easily done with simple
subtraction an comparison to a threshold.
