  I've seen pictures of V8 race cranks with the rod journals on the
same plane.  I think they call these 180 degree cranks.   Depending
on the cam, these engines could fire the cylinders on every other
stroke.  It would be something like an eight piston, 4cylinder
Harley Davidson.
