 Actually MOST Motronic uses 8051.. 

 Started w/ 1802

 Then 8051, 8052, 80515/535, 80517

 Then onto MCS-96 (80C196)..

 The latest (M5.2) uses a chip that doesnt seem to exist, the 87C196KN

 I say doesn't exist because the the answers you get from Intel when
 you ask about it..
