Thanks Gar,
will read up on egor as time allows.

My 800V ac spark plug/dust collector is quasi wired 
I'm almost sure it will work fine (no dust collection
with ac). My next thought was seing what amplitude ac on
primary will give 800v ac on the secondary, using the Mits
coil. I'm sure it won't be much, so I'll be able to junk
my megatransformer and use a simple signal generator. Hmm
seems like I could junk it right now.
