CDI spark duration - take two

About five minutes ago, I dribbled:

A couple of weeks ago, Garfield quoted this:

duration, resulting in a more reliable and smooth combustion in the
engine, particularly before it has attained it's normal working
temperature."

Here's yet another CDI project from an Australian electronics magazine, which 
has some mention of this effect.
