Diagnostic Energy Reserve Module.  Airbag box, separate from
PCM.  Stores codes, crash event data, retains power to
ignite air bag when battery power is lost.

No expert here, but optical units were 2000 pulses per
mile.  If your late model F body has auto trans, think it's
40pulses/driveshaft revolution.
