  I'd have to agree with Wayne. As my original post stated, I'm not a
hack, but I do have a pretty good idea about why crankshafts turn. I
know nothing along the lines of EE, so it would be truley great if
someone would be willing to start a "PIC's 101" (no offense Bruce, on
the contrary).
