converter stall is directly proportional to the torque that the engine
produces. the same converter can stall at 1700 on one engine, and 2500 on
another.

Are all the Corvette convertors the same? The reason I ask is, I have a
89 and it seems to stall at around 1700 or 1800 rpm, but my friend's 86
is more like 2200rpm.
