They are exactly the same type, but due to physical limitations they
could only be mounted to squit onto the floor of the runner (albeit
angled 45 degree towards the valves).

At 2000RPM, I'm running 25 degrees @ 15" vac, and 15 deg @ 0" vac.
This is very close to the factory carbed engine specs.

This is a possiblity - the runners are designed for 4500-7000 RPM
operation. But why would this be a problem down low? Surely it just
lowers the VE somewhat?
