Motorcycle EFI?

Been watchin the Bike EFI thread, and was wonderin....
GM batch fire ECMs give two fuel squirts per intake event
in nornal applications....  Couldn't you adapt a batch fire
setup from a gm 4-banger, and somehow get rid of every
other reference pulse from the (crank/distrib) sensor,
thus doubling the RPM range of the ecm?  Now you would only
have one fuel squirt per intake event, but that's all you need right?
It would be a long road to tuning this thing, but you'd have the
help of the ALDL data stream...   Just a (twisted) thought..
