Nope, we're on the same page. It's just that it doesn't seem to read the

The SAAB DI system is all one big potted together part, with all four
IGN coils sticking outta the bottom, and bolts into the valley between
the two cam towers, sits right ontop the spark plug tips, and has only 9
signals in the interface. Included in that complement of signals, is
digital fire/misfire indication for each plug pair (which when
intersected with the crank sensor, determines which individual cylinder
is sensed), an analog knock signal, 4 digital lines to fire the
individual coils, +BAT and GND. That's it. The entire thing is a FRU
(field replaceable unit) and lists for around $300.

Elegant, no?
