Anyone done an Aircooled EFI system?

Derek, I once replaced the D-Jetronic on mine with a cpu brain, I've spent
hundreds of hours on that engine and the bosch systems, and my findings were
that really for overall drivability and performance, just make sure it's
intact and working and leave it alone. I worked for a porsche garage for
awhile and I always found that replacing the D or L jetronic systems with
carbs etc, destroyed the drivability of it. I say this because the faults
are usually found to be bad grounds and poor connections. it isn't really a
vw engine either. I have seen guys drill holes for a 'racing' rollbar and
drill thru the D-Jetronic box and it still works. by now the injectors could
use replacement and the sensors/senders are probably shot.
replacing/checking those would be a reasonable idea. the engine already has
an injector per port.
