Weird things happening

I got a weird thing happening with my 7747 setup, I get a timing jump of
30 degrees, meaning when at idle the timing is at 30 degrees but when I
keep the timing light on the mark it jumps between 30 degrees and 60
degrees and then back and forth. If I unhook the timing connector to set
the static timing the oscillation stops.... any ideas?  esc module?
ECM?
