The ZL1 was the derated all aluminum 427. About 50 made their way into Camaros
in 1969, and a fewer number made it into Corvettes.

GMPP has dusted off the tooling, and is now making the ZL1 block again. Borla,
of muffler fame had a EFI ZL1 built by street and performance for his 67 Camaro
that made it on one of the power tours earlier this year. Details on the car
and EFI setup can be seen in this month's (November) Chevy High Performance
Magazine.
