The simplest thing to do would be going to TBI,  Throttle Body
Injection.  With an adapter you can use your exiting intake manifold,
etc.  Will have to work out throttle cable, throttle valve cable.
  If you like doing all that then the TPI.
  Way easy to get over ones head
  Read about gm's pickup trucks TBI at the library, and at DIY_EFI the
archives.
  The ecm you have would take lots of work to get right. A $50
junkyard one is the route to go.

a 747 (common gm ecm for tbi's), there will be lots of reading
material.  Then in projects there is an area about gm ecms.
