Years ago Champion Spark Plug tested the old sugar-in-the-gas trick. They
wound up putting about 20 pounds of sugar in a fuel tank before it did any
damage---plugging the fuel filter IIRC. It never did any damage to the
engine. Interestingly enough, Champion spark plug cleaning grit, applied
through the air intake has an immediate effect ;=>
