<< I sold about 35 of those back in about 1982, for $175 canadian each. I
still have one of the fuel flow sensors, as well as the hand-held
tester/diagnostic unit.
There was a unit made that measured the injector pulse width to replace
the flow unit on EFI.
From what I remember it reset after every so long - say 1 second - of
injector opening, and sent a pulse to the computer the same as the flow
sensor did. You calibrate the unit - basically so many pulses to the
gallon. This module was available from Compu-cruise at the time, along
with the "electronic clutch switch" which detected excessive engine
acceleration and shut off the cruise (if you pushed the clutch, or put
the tranny in neutral, or broke a driveshaft, etc. etc.
By the way, the units were EXCELLENT.
If you want the diagnostic unit (cost me $145 or thereabouts back then)
$25 US plus shipping and it's yours. The spare fuel sensor will go for
$35 US plus shipping.

Clarence, Thanks for the info. I will see about buying that diagnostic tool
and spare flow sensor. I think I am going to install the unit on my 83 Olds
98. It has a ECU and computer carburetor and I would like to try my hand at
re-programing on that before i install a TBI on my Volvo.
>From what u have said my only regret is she didnt have a pallet of these
things at that price!
