upgrading injector driver on a 1227148

hello gentle people
    i took apart my gm computer to see if i could identify the injector
drivers(transistor) i think i found  them?now how do i upgrade the
drivers for the peak and hold injector applications? do i just de
soldier old ones and replace with new ones(national's  lm1949) is my
info correct i do have a part number off the transistors seven of them
they are all on a heat sink bar? has any body done this?
