Yet another L-98 Pinging Update

Well, I got my replacement Performance Resource chip tonight.  At highway
speed it would pull out a degree or two just like the stock chip when you
started moderately accelerating after cruising at around 52 mph and then
the amount of retard would return to zero as you were still accelerating.
At around 25 mph criuse with moderate acceleration up to around 35 mph it
was pulling out 13 degrees whereas the stock chip pulled out maybe 1 degree
or none.  Again, there is not EGR function that I can find at any speed or
throttle position.  The chip seems to pull out the advance very rapidly.
Can this be programmed into the chip such that a faint ping in a vulnerable
speed/load region would bring about a quic and overcompensating response?
Finally, at WOT the chip pulled out 7 degrees but the car started to miss.
It has done this noticably a few times in the past so now I am wondering
whether I have an injector problem.  The chip was pulling out 7 degrees but
the acceleration rate was very anemic due to the hesitation of the engine.
I wonder if the 25 MPH situation is a reflection of a bad injector?
