Yes.  The Europeans have used kg force per square mm as pressure for many
years.  When ISO devised pressure to be a Pascal, one Newton per square
meter, the Europeans came up with a bar as a convenient measure of pressure
very close to what they were used to.  One bar, one atmosphere, one kg/mm^2
are not equal but very close to each other.

The Japanese still use kg/mm^2 and we Americans who use metric officially
use kiloPascals, (kPa) but bar is becoming increasingly common.
