+ means move it toward front of car. IMHO .001"  won't make that much
difference, but to do it right  you should check the pattern with gear
marking compound. Backlash may have to be adjusted, just remove thickness
from one side and add the same amount to the other side. Shoot for
.004-.008 backlash with pattern centered on drive side of tooth.
