The VP convertor as used on TH400s and ST300s is a 3 element convertor
with adjustable stator vane angles. The DynoFlush was a one-speed trans
with a multi-element convertor [cant remember, about 5 elements, IIRC] it
did have a switch pitch feature but it was hydraulically actuated. Not
interchangeable...
