Posi lube and additive are mentioned in an early 70's GM manual I
have, as well as "special posi gear lube". From my days in an axle
and trans shop, I always run both for trouble free operation. Part
no. for the "special lube" is still good, but the bottle now reads
"rear axle lubricant".
Despite some sales rep's claims, modern gear oil is not effective in
reducing limited slip diff stick/slip in turns.
I have access to a case of DEXRON trans fluid, in metal cans. Is
there a shelf life for this?
