Cantonese is spoke mostly in Hong Kong and Canton as for the rest of China the
language (dialect) changes about every 30 km (18.64miles, 1491.28 chains or16.19
nautical miles for those of you that don't like metric) The government in China
imposed Mandarin as the official language and expected everyone to learn it so
that they can communicate with each other. A lot of people in Hong Kong are busy
learning Mandarin now due to their new Landlords. I think mandarin is spoke in a
few other places also, like Taiwan.
