I have to take exception to this...several prod. V-8s (BBC and Mopar Hemi
come immediately to mind) were very much designed with competition in mind.
And the reason you can't buy a production race car is because, quite
simply, for any number of reasons (liability, selling potential, warranty
problems, CARB, CAFE, etc) it wouldn't be a good idea, economically.
